Pink (it's my new obsession)

Picture
A mix of pink tones featured in the Miu Miu SS17 Ready-To-Wear collection
My obsession with the colour pink did not begin when I first heard that infamous song by Aerosmith (though it did prompt me to consider Steven Tyler a vocal legend,  I must say...). Maybe it was the fact that the fashion industry had finally started producing more appealing shades of the colour, I don't know, but whatever happened, I became hooked.

It was the Summer of 2015 when I first started seeing more of it on the runways, and on blogs (e.g. Samantha Maria a.k.a Beautycrush and What Olivia Did) and the more and more it popped up in places, the more I wanted to embelish myself in the candy floss tones and the pale salmon shades.

As much as it's a beautiful addition to my wardrobe, pink still has to be worn carefully - it will never be the new black (an all pink outfit just makes you look like Barbie I'm afraid). But what it will do is lift and brighten up any dulling outfit - it's a fun colour, undeniably so, and it will never not make you pop. Include it in accessories and you've made an outfit more interesting. Wear it as the main piece, and you have a conversation starter. Here are a few of my favourite pink items from my wardrobe and from the people around me, and where you can find similar ones.

And where to find it?
Pink has been gracing the fashion runways, magazines and blogs for over a year now. High street brands such as Zara and Banana Republic have been showcasing a wide variety of styles featuring the soft colour. Here are some of my top picks at the moment (including some features from this post):

Zara: pink faux leather jacket and salmon pink casual coat

Banana Republic: pink blazer and pink ruffled blouse
Asos: pink coat similar to one featured in this post
Topshop: pink patent slingback sandals
Repetto Paris: classic ballet pump in metallic baby pink

My favourite blogger outfits:

Pages by Megan:
The statement fluffy pink coat
